At the stroke of midnight hour on the 30th June 2009 when the world slept, R.I. Dist 3250 awoke to the beginning of a new dawn under the able leadership of our Dist. Governor Rtn. Anil Singh.
At the beginning of this new dawn Rotary Chanakya started on her unending quest, and its trackless records in this short time are filled with striving and the grandeur of its succeses.
The achievement we celebrate today is but a step, an opening of opportunity to the greater triumphs and achievements that await us.
Hon'ble Dist Governor, RI DIST 3250 Rtn. Anil Singh. First lady Rekhaji
Fellow Rotarians Dishnguisned Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Firstly, on behalf of all the members of Rotary Chanakya I express my sincerest thanks and gratitude for your humble support by your guidance and presence in nearly all our major events held so far. Thank you very much Sir, When I took over as the President of Rotary Chankya, the mightiest challenge before me was to lead a club of leaders; to perform as per their expectations and over and above to achieve the goal set by Rotary International - Commitment towards the Welfare of health, hunger and humanity.
Sir, the new rotary year started with the launch of our website (www.rotary_chankya.com) which was the first in RI Dist 3250, realease of our First Club Roster cum directory. The website was launched with the objective of disseminating Roatary Information to the masses while it contains all the major informations about Rotary, & Rotary Chankya it also provides information which is vital for increasing and retaining the membership base and also for developing future leaders.
Over 500 copies of our Club Roster were circulated amongst the people from varied professions including Rotarins.
We implemented the club leadership plan & appointed club Trainers
The society is fragmented into two halves - the halves and the have nots, While Rotary has done a lot for the letter, I felt to do something for the Haves of the society which would help in taking Rotary into a new direction and thereby building the Image of Rotary.
In this direction a Media Conclave 'Enchanting Bihar' was organised in which leading Media Personalities from across the Nation participated to debate Role of Media in Building of New Bihar. This was attended by Bureaucrats, professionals, Bankers, Rotarians and Intellectuals. It received wide coverage in the print and electronic Media Not only that the Media since then has become more positive and cautious in the image building of Bihar and leading Hindi Daily Prabhat Khabar started a series "cnyrk fcgkj" while Hindustan started, "vc iVuk vkus dk eu ckj&ckj djrk gSA" Our objective was to stop the flight of capital and human resources from the state and also encourage new investment in the state which would bring economic prosperity to this backward region. The report on this was published and circulated amongst the RIDIST 3250, Government functionaries, Ministers in State and Union Government. The report in audio visual and text form was submitted to Hon'ble chief minister, shree nitish kumar in the presence of Dy. Chief Minister Hon'ble Health Minister.
You would appreciate it to be the historic conclave which has now projected the image of Rotary as a new face of the society.
The Rotaract in RI RIST3250 has nearly become extinct. The challenge for Rotary in the coming years would be to 'Reduce the Age in Rotary
To bring youth into the mainstream of Rotary we organised a youth conclave in Patna to dehiberate upon "lalnh; yksdra=k&fodYi dh ryk'k" Altogether 37 students from 17 institutions participated and so interesting was the deliberations that the packed audience heard in rapt attention for nearly 3 hours. We distributed Four way Test in 47 colleges which is displayed on their boards, club Roster having Rotary Information was given to students. Chief Guest Hon'ble Justice Patna High Court Smt Mridula Mishraji was present till the end and remarked that this was the best events witnessed by me in my Lifetime and leading daily Hindi Hindustan quoted it.
Co-incendentally AICC Gen Secy, Mr. Rahul Gandhi was in Patna on 02nd Feb, 2010 and came across the news in Print Media. I am proud to inform you that I received a congratulatory mail on his behalf from his secretariat who desired the detailed information on it. This event was an eye-opener and opened the country for a new debate To our commitment towards the community service we are running a school at the slum Area at Adalatganj, Patna, Two Polio cum Immunisation centres at Mithapur and Chitkohra. Patna Apart from this we are working for the clean Patna Green Patna Campagin in which we have collaborated with Nidan We have provided special thellas to lift the garbage and have made people self employed also. A vermicompost park is operational where the garbage is recycled into fertiliser This is our effort to save planet Earth. Health-Check-Up cum Awareness camp, Eye-camp and artificial limb camp have been our mega projects. The entire activity is shoevcased in the visual presentation and hence I heed not elaborate upon it we have installed toilets at Danapur at a cost of Rs. 1.75lacs.
Under a matching Grant project we are providing a Multi Utility Vehicle that will serve to 70,000 dalit women in the musahar locality at Danapur. It will serve as moible clinic cum ambulance mobile art gallery, mobile library educational tour van, mobile govt. programmes awareness van.
The cost is Rs. 19.0 lacs, Sir, I feel that if a free socity cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.
The energy the faith the devotion which we have brought to this endeavour will light RIDIST 3250 and all who serve it and the glow from that fire can truly light the whole of R.I. Friends Winners don't do different things they do things differentty.
